About Bath Co. Memorial Library

A Place for Everyone

The Bath County Memorial Library was founded in 1949 by the Owingsville Women's Club, and opened in January, 1950. It expanded into a bookmobile in 1953, and in 1963 moved into the old Farmer's Bank Building located on historic Main St. The Library offers a wide variety of community events, services, programs, and so much more!

Our mission is to strengthen our community through literacy and lifelong learning by providing equal access to materials for everyone. We’re not only a place to come and read - we’re a center for discovery, creativity, and empowerment.

With our growing collection of digital media, we’re helping to engage with a new generation of learners and establishing the foundations to bring people, ideas, and information together

into the future.
